Diet Meal Plan for a Week

While there is no sure fire way to lose weight in a week, you can gear yourself up to lose as much weight as possible in a short space of time. It’s not the healthiest way to lose weight, but if you need to shed pounds within a week, you’re going to need a diet that’s tailored towards just that. Of course, if you’ve always been slightly unhealthy in your lifestyle and are worried that going on a rough diet for a week may have adverse health side effects, consult your doctor or don’t partake in the program as quick weight loss may be detrimental to your health.

One of the most popular ways to lose weight fast is to cut food entirely out of your diet and only eat small things like nuts and granola bars. Filling your diet with water to replace certain meals in the day is a guaranteed way to force the body to burn fat and calories that are already attached to your body. While not the healthiest way to lose weight, it works. Also, you can try just eating smaller meals at every meal instead of your usual portions. Cutting your portions in half will trick your body into thinking it’s full even when it isn’t. As said before, don’t try these methods until you’ve talked to a doctor and have decided that you want to rush through your weight loss for a week. Any weight that you lose in a week will most likely not stay off permanently as your body will try its hardest to regain the weight and calories as soon as possible. For competitions that have weight restrictions, losing weight in a week is a good way to enter but not a healthy way to keep weight off.

Going on a diet is one of the worst things that anyone wants to do because most of the times you are deprived of your favorite foods which usually include sweet foods full of sugar or foods that are full of saturated fats. Most dieticians will tell you that a balanced diet of mostly good foods with a little luxury thrown in now and again will not do any harm. If you have had a good week dieting and exercising then there is no reason that you cannot reward yourself with some kind of food treat. Going out to dinner is always a good idea however if you decide to eat something from the menu that is full of vegetables and low in high glycemic foods then you leave yourself open to have a nice treat for dessert. Dieting does not have to be a chore but the best way to diet is to change your lifestyle so that every meal is a healthy meal which you enjoy.

Fruits and vegetables are very delicious while meat is also something that tastes very good. Limiting the meats in your meals because they are full of saturated fats is the best ways to reduce your calories during a meal while stocking up on good fresh vegetables will help to clean out your insides. A clear pathway through your blood vessels and your heart is the best way to prevent stroke and heart attach which are common killers of people with weigh problems. By reducing your belt size to an acceptable weight for both men and for women you can substantially increase your lifespan by several years and perhaps even decades. The longer you go without a healthy lifestyle the harder it will be to get back on track later in life which is the most common error for people to make. Once you have changed your lifestyle eating habits to smaller portions and healthy fresh foods from the farm you will feel the difference right away. Living a healthy lifestyle full of good foods and exercise will benefit not only you but the people around you who will see the changes you have made and want to join in too.

Regulating your eating habits through the use of a diet meal plan is one way that you can lose weight or gain weight depending on your goals. Planning what you want to achieve through dieting is the best way to start out so that you can set yourself goals and mile stones which are a good indication of your progress. There are many different ways to plan you goals as well as set up your initial diet mean plan which should be changed at least once a month so that firstly you don’t get bored of the diet and secondly your diet requirements will change as your body changes. Without regulating your diet through watching your calorie intake then this will mean there are not many other ways or thoroughly regulating your diet plan. Size of the meals and portion size are the other ways to regulate your diet however these are nowhere near as good as counting the calories in each meal and adding them up as you go along throughout the day.

Once you achieve your target calorie intake then you can either have one more light meal if you are nearing the end of the day or you can wait until the next day before you eat again. If you decide that eating a small meal is what you need then you can counteract this by working a little harder during your next workout. Meal plans help you to regulate what you are eating easily by having a plan set out for you each day. Most people will get bored of this plan after a while which I why it was suggested earlier to change you meal plan every now and again. If you are interested in starting a diet meal plan then the first thing you could do is make an appointment with a nutritionist. If this is not an option then purchase a calorie counting book from your local book store and start making some adjustments to your diet straight away. Remember to include as many fresh foods as you can because many of the preserved foods contain sugars and fats which will not be good for your diet.

The different alternatives of a diet meal plan

Once you decide that you want to start on a diet there is always something several plans that you should consider such as getting the right quality and quantity of foods for your dieting goals without going over the specific amounts. Sometimes this is trial and error based because each person requires a specific amount of food to get them through the day however if you have started a diet then you should be aware that a lack of energy may follow unless the foods you have previously eaten where inadequate for your energy requirements. Many of the poor diets that people get into the habit of following for convenience are all based on take away foods which are high in fats and sugars but not in any kind of nutrient that is a lasting energy. Even though fat is the longest lasting energy it is not released without the presents of carbohydrates which makes fat lost more difficult.

A real diet meal plan will calculate the percentage of carbohydrates and fats plus proteins that the regular diet should include. These percentages start at about 55% to 65% for complex carbohydrates per day, a limit of 33% unsaturated fats and 12% to 15% of protein which the body needs to replace muscle and organ cells. Carbohydrates are your common fuel which is used and release by other micro nutrients found in the body. Without carbohydrates the fat will not burn which is your long term energy source so complex carbohydrates will be required for a fat loss diet. Protein is the last resort of the body for a fuel however we try to avoid the use of proteins for fuel because they reduce our overall muscle mass which in return reduces our ability to burn fat.

Diet meal plan

Going to McDonald’s every night for dinner may be considered a meal plan however this is in no way, shape or form a diet meal plan. Even with the low fat alternatives that McD’s has had to put on their menu, they are still not adequate enough to help reduce weight of any major proportion. Losing too much weight in a very short period of time will leave you feeling sick and can be dangerous for you. A nice and steady pace of weight loss as well as dieting will work wonders over the long term which is what you really need to lose enough weight and keep it off.

Once you have dropped down to the weight you want to be making sure that you adjust your diet meal plan accordingly. At this stage you can slightly increase the sizes of meals, one meal like breakfast or all meals by comparison. Only a small change in consumption is needed so that you stop losing weight but do not put it back on either. Dr Nick Rivera out of the Simpson’s had a great diet where you could eat whatever you wanted but without proportioning this kind of plan there is no chance that your body would accept change. Dr Nick’s diet was more along the lines of a non weight loss diet which had nothing to do with good nutrition.

There are many diet plans that you can download onto your computer and then print them off and post them in your kitchen so that you are aware of all the tips and suggestions for meals while you are preparing you meal. Don’t be fooled by the diets that claim to loss huge amounts of weight in a short period because often these diets are more harmful than good.

Diet meal plan suggestions

You might have noticed that several of the websites out there are advertising calorie count diet meal plans such as the engine 1200 and the 1500 and 1600 calorie diet. All this means in very simple terms that you are trying to cut out this many calories in one day so that all the collection of calorie intake is reduced and therefore you start to lose weight. The size of the calorie count that you would want to reduce would be relevant to you intake of food on a normal day’s count.

A higher count would mean you want to reduce more of these calories to really have the best chance of losing the weight you desire. These are also known as snacking diets where you limit the size of your main meals to the size of the ones you would have for morning and afternoon breaks. The meals would consist of the same foods from that meal, for example porridge for breakfast and vegetables for dinner but the portions would be snack size in comparison to a normal sized meal.

There is also no need for you to have to pay any money for a diet meal plan when there are so many good ones on the internet for free. If you like the idea of having a nice cook book or meal diary then just print of the recipes you enjoy the most that are low calorie and low in fats and sugars. Snacking is not as bad for you as you think it is and these low calorie recipes will make a great collection in a folder to continue the dieting for as long as you need to. Have a break from your diet meal plan every 4 to 6 weeks for many reasons but mostly to keep our sanity.

Sharing my diet meal plan

Filed under: Diet Meal Plan - 04 Aug 2009  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

I knew that I was not technically overweight according to the facts and figures that the sporting professionals had given me but I still did not like the extra weight that I was carrying around. My underarms were a drooping mess of fat and my belly was nearly as far out as my boobs were. So I decided that going to the gym alone was not sufficient enough and I wanted to find another means of losing the weight that I had struggled with for so many years. The answer was of course to modify my diet and start eating in a manner that would help me reduce a few dress sizes. This I thought was a great idea because I had always been the kind of girl that would buy clothes to small for me in an attempt to lose weight. All this accomplished was having a wardrobe full of clothes that did not fit me.

My diet meal plan was going to be simple. First I started by writing down what I was going to eat each day and then going to the market to buy as much fresh foods as possible. I liked to think that buying fresh was healthier for me even if it was not a key principle to weight loss. The next thing was to get up early about 7am each day and eat a good breakfast full of carbohydrates so that this would fuel my daily activities as well as kick off my metabolism early. After that I had fresh fruit for morning tea, salads for lunch and just a touch up of carbs for afternoon tea too. Dinner was always meat and veggies, as long as the veggies were not high in carbohydrates. Then for supper I would have a small protein shake or bar to keep me going till the next morning.

Facts about a working diet meal plan

Filed under: Diet Meal Plan - 04 Aug 2009  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

There are several things you should know about starting a new or your first diet meal plan one of which is that not all diets work for everyone because every person’s body works in a different way and reacts differently to different foods. My partner cannot eat some of the foods I love because they give her bad gas. These foods include pineapples, onions and capsicums otherwise known as peppers. Different foods have different reaction to bodies depending on allergies, metabolism rates and many other reasons.

Start by writing the foods you like to eat on a chart and then decide what sort of health low fat and low sugar meals you can make with these foods. Often it might be a good idea and much simpler to list the foods you cannot eat and then work around these. Use different cook books to enhance your meal selection, the modern day cook books often have a calorie count per serving or a list of how much fat, protein and carbohydrates there are in each meal as well.

Once you have selected a variety of meals to cook or make you should also try to include fresh vegetables and fruits which will provide you with essential vitamins and minerals that your body requires each day. Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and dessert (or supper) should all be taken into account. Try not to think that having five or six meals each day as eating too much because having more meals with smaller portions is a great way to keep your metabolism high and help you to trim excess weight.

How to organize my diet meal plan

Filed under: Diet Meal Plan - 15 Jun 2009  | Spread the word !

The trouble with going shopping unprepared is the fact that you walk out of the place with nothing to actually make a decent meal with let alone something from your diet meal plan. I have found it the best idea to sit down and really think out what it is you will be going to eat over the next few days and then decide what ingredients you will require to prepare each meal. So I sit down at the kitchen table and decide what to buy before I leave the house.

First I cover breakfast for my diet meal plan by deciding what it is I might like to have for breakfast each morning over the next week. I may like to have a variety of different breakfast meals either over each day or a few different things each morning. There is always the stable food which for me is weight watchers cereal and whole meal toast and jam. Both light on the butter and on the jam for my toast. Sometimes I might like a juice to go with breakfast or perhaps for something different I will have an English muffin or some instant porridge.

Lunch is next so I decide what it is I will be eating for lunch for a few days. I never like to go over a few day fresh food supplies so that I don’t risk them spoiling too early. If the bakery has brown buns then I will take 6 of these to make some nice ham and salad rolls with fresh lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cheese and a tad of low fat mayonnaise. The meat in always unprocessed, usually ham of the bone or roasted chicken pieces. I like to have a piece of fresh fruit with my lunch to really top off the diet meal plan.

For dinner I will do the same as lunch and only buy a few days worth of food so that I eat fresh foods more regularly. This ensures that I get the added vitamins and minerals that fresh foods have to offer. I like to eat meat almost every night of the week but not all of the meat I eat is red. Often a piece of chicken or pork will do just as nicely for dinner and if cooked well and trimmed and drained of fat then these can also be health for you and should be added to your diet meal plan. Frozen vegetables hold in there nutrients just as well as and sometimes better than the fresh foods do so don’t be afraid of buying frozen. Other than that for suggestions to a good diet meal plan try to buy as much fresh vegetables as possible for your dinners and be moderate with the quantity of each meal.
